Luz M. Payán
Luz is a third-year law student at Penn State Dickinson Law. Prior to law school, she graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelors of Arts in Criminology and minors in Criminal Justice and Psychology. Luz is interested in working in criminal law, specifically in post-conviction appellate litigation. She is passionate about reforming the criminal justice system, especially in the area of wrongful convictions.During her first year of law school, Luz had the opportunity to extern at the Innocence Project in the Legal Policy and Strategic Litigation Departments, working on various issues relating to wrongful convictions. Luz also served as the President of the Criminal Law Society last year, where she led the executive board in hosting various events for the Penn State Community.
In addition to serving as the Editor-in-Chief of the Criminal Law Blog this year, Luz is also involved in Alianza, the Latinx Law Student Association and the Immigration Law Society.
Outside of law school, Luz enjoys crocheting, working on puzzles, spending time with friends and family, hiking, and playing with her dog, Tooki!

Hibah Arif Hasan
Hibah is a third-year law student at Penn State Dickinson Law, with a strong academic foundation in Politics and Law from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Her legal interests focus on criminal law and family law, areas she aims to pursue following graduation.Her first year of law school, Hibah completed a summer internship with the Shelby County Public Defender’s Office in Memphis, Tennessee, where she worked in the Juvenile Division, gaining hands-on experience in public defense and youth advocacy.
At Penn State Law, she serves as Secretary for the Immigration Law Society and as Vice President for the the Muslim Legal Society. She is also honored to be the Articles Editor for the Penn State Journal of Law and International Affairs.
Outside of law school, she enjoy crocheting, painting, going on walks, and spending time with her cat, Espurr!

Noah Roberts
Noah is a second-year law student at Penn State Dickinson Law. He earned his undergraduate degree in International Business in Canada before pursuing a legal education, with growing interests in corporate law, date privacy, and energy law.At Penn State, Noah is also the Treasurer of the First-Generation Law Student Association and the Social Chair of the Black Law Student Association. He values opportunities to strengthen his legal skills while contributing to conversations on important issues in the law.
In his free time, Noah enjoys basketball, playing board games, and reading!
